Composed of finastéride, this drug acts by blocking the operation of an enzyme. This effect is opposed to the transformation in fabrics of testosterone into an androgen, called dihydrotestostérone or DHT.

On the level of the prostate, this drug prevents the formation of an adenoma, a very current benign tumour in the male sex and source of urinary problems. At the capillary level, he fights against the alopécie by being opposed to the process of miniaturization pilous follicules, which is favoured at certain men by the presence of strong quantities of DHT inside the scalp.

An action limited at the early stages

The treatment by Propecia is available only on ordinance and requires the catch of a tablet with 1 Mg per day to be taken during or apart from the meals. Attention, it cannot be used at the woman, for whom it is ineffective and even dangerous in the event of pregnancy (risk of transformation of the genitals at the foetus of male sex). It is even recommended to the expectant mothers not to handle broken or crushed tablets of Propecia.

What can you expect some? You will be able to stabilize the fall of your hair if your baldness is not too important and that you are still young. Do not be too impatient because it will in general be necessary to await 3 to 6 months and especially not to stop your treatment because the benefit observed disappear into 9 to 12 months. It is not either useful to increase the number of tablets. Nothing proves that increases the effectiveness and that could increase the risk of side effects.
